There are countless stories of ᴀʙᴀɴᴅᴏɴᴇᴅ dogs finding new homes and lives, but one story that stands out is that of a ᴅɪsᴀʙʟᴇᴅ dog who not only found a new family but also became a therapy dog for other dogs in need. He is now helping all those beautiful animals!
Life has not always been kind to Sherio, but he has not allowed that to make him ᴄʏɴɪᴄᴀʟ ᴏʀ ᴜɴᴋɪɴᴅ.
Instead, this sweet pup has become a source of security and comfort for other foster animals.
Sherio knows all too well how sᴄᴀʀʏ it can be to come to a new home; though Sherio has a warm and loving home now, that hasn’t always been the case.
Sherio is a ᴅɪsᴀʙʟᴇᴅ dog. He is a ᴅᴇᴀꜰ dog and is partially ʙʟɪɴᴅ. That could be the main reason he gets returned every time he’s adopted, over and over again. Through 12 homes and two different shelters, he finally met an owner who truly loves him – Ms. Sheryl Smith.
Sheryl is a person who specializes in helping ᴅɪsᴀʙʟᴇᴅ animals with her love. When she met Sherio, she knew she would stick with him. And the things Sherio did to repay her touched her heart.
Sherio is so happy to have finally found a family who loves him, and since getting adopted by Sheryl, he’s been determined to spread the joy and “pass it forward.”
Sherio does his best to help all the animals Sheryl agrees to take home and foster.
Sherio doesn’t hesitate to help Sheryl care for her new friends. After Sherio, she also adopted a dog mother who was in ᴄʀɪᴛɪᴄᴀʟ ᴄᴏɴᴅɪᴛɪᴏɴ trying to take care of her puppies.
Sherio helped the owner wash and help the little dogs eat. The mother dog could have ᴅɪᴇᴅ without Sherio’s help.
Sherio does everything he can to make the ɴᴇᴇᴅʏ animals feel safe and loved. He gives them encouraging ʟɪᴄᴋs and ᴋɪssᴇs and tries to be a source of comfort.
Sheryl recently adopted a sɪᴄᴋ feral cat named Tiny Tolley. Sherio immediately approached and cuddled Tiny in the first meeting like the youngest in the family.
The kitten even trusted Sherio before trusting his mistress. His health improved quickly, and now he can share love and company with everyone, especially Sherio.
Despite being in a family full of love, Sherio is always ᴀꜰʀᴀɪᴅ of being ᴀʙᴀɴᴅᴏɴᴇᴅ like in the past.
According to Sheryl, he ᴄʀɪᴇᴅ every time he was ʟᴇꜰᴛ in the car, even for a few minutes. But Sheryl and her family and doing everything they can to grow his confidence.
And meanwhile, Sherio has become a great source of strength for many needy animals.
Sherio is still going strong today, spreading joy and comfort wherever he goes. He’s a testament to the resilience of animals and the power of love and compassion.
Sherio’s story is a reminder that even when life doesn’t go as planned, there’s always a way to impact the world positively.
