Toby And Amos’ Friendship!
When Jess Martin volunteered at her neighborhood animal shelter, she met the adorable Staffordshire named Amos, born ʙʟɪɴᴅ.
She immediately welcomed him into her home after finding out he was having ᴛʀᴏᴜʙʟᴇ finding his forever family.
Amos’s temporary foster home quickly changed into a place that would have a lasting ɪᴍᴘᴀᴄᴛ on his ʟɪꜰᴇ.
When Toby, her nine-year-old terrier, met his foster sibling, Jess worried about how Toby would react. Toby was Jess’s best friend.
They had shared some incredible experiences and forged a strong bond, so the idea of growing their small family seemed ᴅᴀᴜɴᴛɪɴɢ. However, Toby and Amos’ friendship grew after a few days of uncertainty.
Amos had spent his entire life in a rescue facility and had never lived in a house before meeting Jess.
Amos was ᴛɪʀᴇᴅ of the way the carpet felt on his paws, would run into walls, and became ᴛᴇʀʀɪꜰɪᴇᴅ of TV sounds.

As Amos grew older, an eye doctor examined him. Finally, it was concluded that his eyes were most likely causing him daily ᴘʀᴇssᴜʀᴇ and ᴀɴɢᴜɪsʜ and that ʀᴇᴍᴏᴠɪɴɢ the eyes would be the most ʜᴜᴍᴀɴɪᴛᴀʀɪᴀɴ choice.
Soon after the ᴏᴘᴇʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴ, Toby assumed the role of Amos’ “unofficial guide dog.”
At first, Toby would guide Amos around the house, helping him avoid ᴏʙsᴛᴀᴄʟᴇs and showing him where his food and water bowls were.
But soon, the two dogs were exploring the great outdoors together, with Toby leading the way and Amos following closely behind.
Love And Friendship Can Conquer All!
Hiking across the hills is now one of the furry best friends’ favorite hobbies!
Toby guides Amos across the hills with ʙᴏᴅʏ ʙᴜᴍᴘs and ɴᴜᴅɢᴇs; if he sᴛʀᴀʏs, he helps guide him back to the path.
They have a good relationship and respect one another’s limitations.
What’s truly remarkable about their relationship is that Toby seems to have an ɪɴɴᴀᴛᴇ understanding of Amos’s needs.
He’ll often stop and wait for him to catch up and gently ɴᴜᴅɢᴇ him if he seems unsure of where to go.
But it’s not just about physical guidance. Toby also provides emotional support to Amos, cuddling with him when he needs comfort and playing with him when he needs to let off steam.
It’s clear that the two dogs have formed a deep bond, and they’re never far from each other’s side.
