Every Day, Kind-Hearted Boy Helps Blind Deer Find Food Before School

A picture was recently shared on social media showing a boy walking beside a blind deer in Illinois, US.

Every morning, before the boy goes to school, he helps the deer find a place to eat and rest. He takes him from one patch of grass to another, guiding him safely along the way.
According to residents of an apartment building in Illinois, the little boy began helping the deer every day before school. He would walk with the deer and guide her between grass patches to make sure she gets enough food to eat. The boy was so gentle and sweet that the deer quickly learned to trust him.

“There is a blind deer in our neighborhood and this boy (10 yrs old) walks her from one grass patch to another every day before school to make sure she finds food”

As it turned out, many folks in the community had been stepping in to help the animal and lead it away from the road, but the boy was by far the sweetest example.

“We are going to frame this photo for them and offer to take him to the local wildlife preserve whenever he wants to go.”

Fortunately, he had contacted a nearby wildlife rescue where they’d be able to look after her and keep her safe.

“The deer is getting picked up today by a local animal rescue group (NOT animal control) and taken to a vet for assessment,” he wrote. “It will likely be tagged and taken to a controlled forest preserve but they did say that since she seemed so docile that she might end up in an approved farm or petting zoo.”
