5-month-old Nora Hall suffered a stroke, causing severe [ʙʀ.ᴀɪɴ ᴅᴀ.ᴍᴀɢᴇ] It was then determined that she was born with [ᴘᴜ.ʟᴍᴏɴᴀʀʏ] hypertension. She didn’t have long to live. She was placed in a medically induced coma for the next three weeks.
She is being taken care of at Minneapolis’ Chidren’s Hospital.

However, doctors have come to the conclusion that she will not survive. Her parents, Mary and John, have made the most difficult decision any parent will ever have to make. They have chosen to turn off her life support system.

Two basset hounds have refused to leave a dying child’s side after doctors informed her parents of the devastating news that she wouldn’t survive.

With Mary puts this down to the fact they can sense the atmosphere is ‘stressed and sad’. Nora is currently in a medically-induced coma.

“It was regrettable,” mom Mary Hall of Deluth, Minnesota, told. “It brought us a lot of comforts to have them [there]. But by the end of the first day, you could see they were stressed out and depressed. Normally, they’re very happy-go-lucky. We knew they could sense there was something wrong.”

The doctors have allowed the dogs to stay in her hospital room. The family have a Facebook page which has been documenting their journey. Mary posted that she was unsure of whether or not to give the dogs to her brother ‘in case they get more stressed seeing everyone upset, or if I should let them stay in the room for when she passes, so they aren’t left wondering where she is when we go home.

“I asked, ‘If you could let us have our dogs [at the hospital], we’d really appreciate that,’” Hall said. “I didn’t want to go home and have them sniffing around for her and not knowing where she went. They lowered the bed so the dogs could lay with her and Gracie ran up and licked her.”

We have been praying so hard for a miracle, that we hadn’t realized that it was right in front of us this whole time. Nora IS our miracle. After reviewing everything, her team of doctors told us that they were absolutely amazed that she made it this far without having any serious complications from her underlying genetic condition. That it was a miracle that she even hit milestones such as tracking with her eyes, chewing on her little hands, smiling and laughing.

The message has been met with a wave of support from all over the globe, with hundreds of people expressing their prayers.
