Animals can feel empathy just like humans do. They empathize with each other, but also with humans and even with other animals. They are innocent and pure-hearted. In another instance of kindness between species, one adult goose showed empathy to a puppy who had been abandoned by its mother soon after birth. The puppy was shivering with the cold weather.
The goose gently folded her wings around this baby and moved the puppy closer so he could benefit from her body warmth.
The original story happened after a polar vortex hit North America in January 2019:
“The man finds a goose that was shaking with cold sᴛᴜᴄᴋ to a pole in Montana, the goose was sheltering with her wings a puppy that was about to ᴅ.ɪ.ᴇ ғʀᴏᴢᴇɴ. We have so much to learn as a species.”
In these images, we can see that the goose even used its beak to pet the puppy and make him sleep comfortably under its warm wings. These photos of a goose wrapping a shivering puppy with its wings should remind us that we should always choose to help others.
Eventually, the puppy stopped shivering and went to sleep, protected by the goose.
Fortunately for the poor little puppy, he was rescued by the photographer and now is well and healthy. But, however, it’s incredible how different species are taking care of each other in times of need.
The puppy and the goose were adopted together and now have formed a lasting friendship in a home environment. Now they are inseparable.
Animals are very amazing. This isn’t the first canine-fowl friendship and certainly not the last. There is some controversy about when and where these photos originated and although we may never know who took these photos or exactly where they were taken, there is no doubting the heartwarming images in the pictures. We can all learn a lesson in love and goodwill from a notoriously aggressive goose that is surely saving the life of a puppy by keeping it warm.
