In a remarkable tale of survival, a dog in India defied all odds by surviving a ʜᴀʀʀᴏᴡɪɴɢ ordeal that lasted seven long hours. The dog, a scrappy little terrier, was locked in a bathroom with a ᴅᴇᴀᴅʟʏ leopard and ultimately alive.
The dog, who used to live on the streets of the Bilinele village in Karnataka, India, got chased by a hungry leopard. Sᴄᴀʀᴇᴅ, the dog named Bollu by locals sought refuge inside a house, but the wild cat followed him, and they both ended up in the bathroom. The house owner spotted the leopard entering his bathroom and blocking the door.

People called for the forestry department, and a team arrived at the scene after a couple of hours. They initially decided to remove a part of the roof to set up a camera to see what they had to deal with. Surprisingly, when they got the first images, the dog and the leopard were peacefully sitting in opposite corners, just like they’d made a ᴛʀᴜᴄᴇ.
After a few attempts, the rescue team eventually set the leopard free, and it rushed into the woods. Then they got Bollu out, who surprisingly was without a single scratch. Everyone was happy to see the dog, and the wild beast set free with no harm. However, they were all wondering how something like this was possible.
“Many are wondering why the leopard did not ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋ the dog,” journalist Prajwal Manipal wrote on Twitter. “Raghavendra, forest officer in Subramanya, says leopards prefer to ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋ in stealth, but here, it may have been wary of the dog defending itself and the lack of a clear escape route.”
The story of this little dog’s miraculous survival quickly spread throughout the local community and beyond. People were amazed at the dog’s tenacity and bravery in the face of such a ᴅᴇᴀᴅʟʏ predator. The story was widely shared on social media and in news outlets worldwide.
