The image of a sɪᴄᴋ and sᴜꜰꜰᴇʀɪɴɢ dog is ʜᴇᴀʀᴛ-ᴡʀᴇɴᴄʜɪɴɢ, and seeing a dog with no ɴᴏsᴇ and ʙʀᴏᴋᴇɴ ᴛᴇᴇᴛʜ is even more ᴅɪsᴛʀᴇssɪɴɢ. Such is the case of a dog dubbed “the most ᴍɪsᴇʀᴀʙʟᴇ dog in the world.” This ᴘᴏᴏʀ creature has sᴜꜰꜰᴇʀᴇᴅ dramatically, and it is a stark reminder of the importance of responsible pet ownership.
Sniffles, the dog, has had a ᴅɪꜰꜰɪᴄᴜʟᴛ life since he was ᴀʙᴀɴᴅᴏɴᴇᴅ in Puerto Rico. He has many health ᴘʀᴏʙʟᴇᴍs and has been ʙɪᴛᴛᴇɴ by other sᴛʀᴀʏ dogs.
Sniffles, though, has made significant progress since his initial condition. He may soon find a home after visiting the US for ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ and sharing his experience with a Florida-based animal charity.
It’s assumed that Sniffles had ᴛᴇʀʀɪʙʟᴇ living situations in Puerto Rico. He has ᴡʜɪᴘᴡᴏʀᴍs and ʜᴏᴏᴋᴡᴏʀᴍs, to name a few ʙʟᴏᴏᴅsᴜᴄᴋᴇʀs, and his ᴛᴇᴇᴛʜ must be taken care of promptly.
Additionally, he no longer has a ɴᴏsᴇ since, according to records, various other roaming pet dogs ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋᴇᴅ him, leaving him with several ᴡᴏᴜɴᴅs and various other health ɪssᴜᴇs.
After he was uncovered in Puerto Rico by a regional pet rescue group, he was lastly adopted out by a family member in the US, where it was thought he could acquire far better ᴄʟɪɴɪᴄᴀʟ ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ.
Yet that was only a temporary post. Sniffles were in ᴅᴀɴɢᴇʀ because he needed ongoing ᴍᴇᴅɪᴄᴀʟ ᴄᴀʀᴇ and kept ᴇʟᴏᴘɪɴɢ.
He eventually found a home with Florida’s Poodle & Pooch Rescue, a volunteer-run organization that saves 500–600 puppies annually.
On December 19, the rescue took him in, and they immediately began looking for a place for him. As a result, he was featured on the Orlando news program WESH on December 24.
Following then, Sniffles’ fortune altered. At least 100 people have called the shelter to express interest after hearing about his adoption.
He will require a committed adopter to clean his ɴᴀsᴀʟ ᴘᴀssᴀɢᴇ twice daily and give him daily ᴇʏᴇ ᴅʀᴏᴘs for ᴅʀʏ ᴇʏᴇs. In a statement to DailyMail.com, the shelter’s spokesperson Rebecca Lynch said
He has many ᴘᴀʀᴀsɪᴛᴇs, including ᴡʜɪᴘᴡᴏʀᴍs and ʜᴏᴏᴋᴡᴏʀᴍs, which could indicate that his ʟɪᴠɪɴɢ conditions were ᴜɴʜʏɢɪᴇɴɪᴄ before entering our care.
The organization hopes that anyone who decides not to adopt Sniffles will adopt another special needs cat, give to one, or foster animals instead of some of the excellent alternatives they have for him.
Genesis Diaz, a neighborhood resident, has been caring for Sniffles in the interim.
As she awoke this morning, she said WESH, he was staring at her from the side of her bed. Suddenly he ᴅᴀsʜᴇᴅ over, spun her around, and began ʟɪᴄᴋɪɴɢ her ꜰᴀᴄᴇ.
