What is a classic car?
The UK government definition of a classic car is described as being older than 15 years and valued at £15000 or more, however different insurers have their own definitions as to what constitutes a classic vehicle. Helpful Information
In Great Britain all vehicles manufactured before 1960 are exempt from regular road-worthiness testing – MOT testing. However, a recent European Union Directive threatened to change the rules around this meaning that, to be exempt from testing vintage motorcycles, vintage cars and vintage motorcycles would need to be at least 30 years old and haven’t had substantial changes made to them.This means that, if we wish to continue to exempt classic vehicles from regular testing, we’ll need to update UK law to reflect EU law for Classic cars. https://www.dft.gov.uk/classic-mot/.
